
29. literarno-glasbeni festival ŽIVA KNJIŽEVNOST s spremljevalnim programom O’živela knjiga
10. 6. – 17. 6. 2022, pred Galerijo Škuc, če dežuje v prostorih Galerije škuc.
Vabimo vas na 29. literarno-glasbeni festival Živa književnost, ki se bo odvijal od 10. do 17. 6. 2022 pred Galerijo Škuc na Starem trgu 21 v Ljubljani. Letos proslavljamo pol stoletja delovanja Društva Škuc, ki je skozi čas zgradilo svojevrstno omrežje kulturno-umetniške produkcije.
Festival bomo otvorili z večerom prevajalske delavnice češke in slovenske poezije, na kateri se bodo češki in domači pesniki_ce mojstrili_e v vlogi prevajalcev_k. Svoje pesmi bodo interpretirali_e v izvirniku, prav tako pa bomo slišali, kako zvenijo v prevodu. V tem dinamičnem prepletu bodo nastopili_e Adam Borzič, Magdalena Šipka, Jan Škrob, Alenka Jovanovski, Aljaž Koprivnikar in Tone Škrjanec.
Gostili bomo tudi dve tuji pesnici in pisateljici Mary B. Tolusso iz Italije in Sampurno Chattarji iz Indije ter mozambiškega pesnika Delmara Maio Gonçalvesa. Ob njih se bodo predstavili_e še domači prozaistki Anja Mugerli in Tina Vrščaj ter pesnika Lukas Debeljak in Tom Veber.
Glasbeni del festivala bo nadvse razgiban, saj bomo prisluhnili glasbenikom_icam raznovrstnih izrazov, od izvajalcev_k eksperimentalnih zvrsti, elektronike in jazz petja do kantavtorjev_ic. Na odru bodo Nina Virant & Ansambel za preužitek, _kašmir_, Jana Beltran, Jernej Marušič – Octex, Shoe & Shoelace – Jure Borščič & Jaka Bergar, Patricija Škof, Strunoslav in Perkakšns.
Tudi letos bo imel festival ob sebi sopotnika, to je spremljevalni program O’živela knjiga. Ta je namenjen predvsem otrokom in mladostnikom, druženju s knjigami in spodbujanju ustvarjalnosti. Ob popoldanskih urah se bodo zvrstile lutkovne predstave, dve radijski igri, gledališka predstava, impro pripovedovalnica ter predstavitvi risoromana in slikanice. Poleg tega smo pripravili likovne delavnice, delavnico stripa, recikliranja in ročnega tiskanja na blago.
Festival Živo književnost bomo zaključili z zabavo ob 50. obletnici Društva Škuc. Ob tej priložnosti bodo spregovorile legende: govorci_ke, ki bodo s spomini osvetlili_e delovanje Škuca. Škuc in njegovi_e sodelavci_ke so v teh petih desetletjih soustvarjali alternativno sceno, tako na glasbenem, vizualnem, gledališkem, filmskem in literarnem področju, ter s svojo nezanemarljivo založniško in festivalsko dejavnostjo razvijali domači kulturni zemljevid. Ob tem je Društvo Škuc spodbudilo vzpostavitev in razvoj lgbt gibanja, prispevalo k večji strpnosti do lgbt oseb v družbi ter tako pripomoglo k širjenju svobodomiselnosti.

Adam Borzič (1978) je eno najbolj prepoznavnih imen sodobne češke poezije. Je pesnik, esejist, psihoterapevt in glavni urednik literarne revije Tvar. Odraščal je na Hrvaškem, kjer je študiral teologijo in psihoterapijo. Skupaj s Kamilom Bouško in Petrom Řehákom je ustanovil pesniško skupino Fantasía. Njegove pesmi so bile vključene v antologije najboljših čeških pesmi in so bile prevedene v več jezikov. Borzič je avtor več pesniških in esejističnih zbirk. Njegove najnovejše publikacije vključujejo Orfické linie (Orfične linije), Západo-východní zrcadla (Zahodno-vzhodna zrcala) in zbirko esejev. Je pomemben organizator praškega literarnega dogajanja in promotor češke literature.
Adam Borzič (1978) is one of the most renowned names of contemporary Czech poetry. He is a poet, essayist, psychotherapist and chief editor of the Tvar literary magazine. He grew up in Croatia, where he studied theology and psychotherapy. Together with Kamil Bouška and Peter Řehák, he established the poetry group Fantasía. His poems have appeared in anthologies of best Czech poems and have been translated into several languages. Borzič is the author of a number of poetry and essay collections. His most recent publications include Orfické linie (Orphic Lines), Západo-východní zrcadla (West-Eastern Mirrors) and a collection of essays. He is an important organiser of Prague literary events and promotor of Czech literature.
Magdaléna Šipka (1990) je češka pesnica, teologinja, publicistka in socialna delavka. Njen pesniški prvenec Město Hráze je leta 2019 izdala uveljavljena češka založniška hiša Malvern. Avtorica je izjemno priljubljena med češkimi kritiki, ki v njenem delu prepoznavajo angažiran položaj na področju spolnih in etničnih manjšin ter njihovih pravic, sicer pa se avtorica ob literarnem življenju ukvarja tudi z družbenim aktivizmom ter s prevajanjem (prevedla je denimo poezijo Dorothee Sölle).
Magdaléna Šipka (1990) is a Czech poet, theologist, publicist and social worker. Her poetry debut Město Hráze was published in 2019 by the renowned Malvern publishing house. The author is extremely popular among Czech critics who value her work for its engagement with the issues of sexual and ethnic minorities and their rights. In addition to her literary life, the author is actively involved in activism and translation (among other things, she has translated the poetry of Dorothee Sölle).
Jan Škrob se je rodil leta 1988 v Pragi. Je avtor treh pesniških zbirk, Pod dlažbou (2016), Reál (2018) in Země slunce (2021). Njegove pesmi so bile prevedene v številne jezike. Njegov prvenec je bil leta 2017 nominiran za češko literarno nagrado Magnesia Litera v kategoriji »odkritje leta«. Leta 2018 je Škrob prejel češko-nemško pesniško nagrado Dresden. Za svojo drugo knjigo je bil nominiran za nagrado Jiříja Ortena za najboljšo knjigo leta izpod peresa avtorja, starega trideset let ali manj. Njegova poezija se giblje na preseku osebnega in političnega, domišljijskega in resničnega.
Jan Škrob was born in Prague in 1988. He is the author of three books of poetry, Pod dlažbou (2016), Reál (2018) and Země slunce (2021). His poems have been translated into multiple languages. His debut book was nominated for the 2017 Magnesia Litera Czech literary award in the “Discovery of the Year” category. In 2018, Škrob won the Czech-German Dresden Lyric Award. For his second book, Škrob was nominated for the Jiří Orten Award, given for the best book of the year by an author thirty years old or younger. His poetry teeters at the intersections of the personal and the political, the fictitious and the real.
Alenka Jovanovski je pesnica, prevajalka, literarna kritičarka, esejistka in urednica. Po pridobitvi doktorata iz primerjalne književnosti je predavala na Univerzi v Ljubljani in Univerzi v Novi Gorici. Od leta 2011 je samozaposlena. Prevaja sodobno italijansko književnost (Pavese v sodelovanju z G. Malejem, Calvino, Milani, Scego, Prosa in Magrelli) in književnosti v angleškem jeziku (M. Randall). Njene pesmi so bile objavljene v dveh pesniških zbirkah (Hlače za Džija in Tisoč osemdeset stopinj) ter prevedene v španski, angleški in poljski jezik. Njeno poezijo najdemo v antologiji pesnic iz Češke, Ukrajine in Slovenije (v poljščini, 2013) in ameriški antologiji slovenske poezije, A Bridge of Voices (2017). Piše tudi razprave in eseje o poeziji, ki se ukvarjajo z vprašanji etike in estetike ter strategijami za deaktivacijo biopolitičnega stroja.
Alenka Jovanovski is a poet, translator, literary critic, essayist and editor. After a PhD in Comparative Literature, she lectured at the Universities of Ljubljana and Nova Gorica. Since 2011 she has worked as a freelancer. She translates from contemporary Italian literature (Pavese in co-translation with G. Malej, Calvino, Milani, Scego, Prosa, Magrelli) and literatures written in the English language (M. Randall). Her poetry has been published in two collections of poems (Trousers For G., A Thousand and Eighty Degrees) and translated into Spanish, English and Polish. It can be found in the anthology of women poets from the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Slovenia (in Polish, 2013) and in the American anthology of Slovenian poetry, A Bridge of Voices (2017). She also writes studies and essays about poetry focusing on the questions of ethics and aesthetics as well as the strategies of deactivating the biopolitical machine.
Aljaž Koprivnikar, pesnik, literarni kritik, urednik in organizator festivalov. Njegov pesniški prvenec Ανατομία je leta 2019 izšel pri grški založbi Vakxikon, istega leta pa je izšla Anatomija pri Centru za slovensko književnost. Trenutno nastaja češki prevod, ki bo izšel pri založbi Viriditas. Živi v več mestih: Ljubljani, Berlinu, Pragi in Lizboni – v Ljubljani organizira mednarodni kritiški simpozij Umetnost kritike, festival Literature sveta – Fabula in Slovenske dneve knjige; v Berlinu pogosto dela s hišo literature Lettrétage; v Pragi je eden od programskih vodij mednarodnega književnega festivala Prague Microfestival; v Lizboni pa pogosto uči na Faculdade de Letras. Trenutno pripravlja novo zbirko pesmi za grški književni trg in njeno slovensko adaptacijo.
Aljaž Koprivnikar, poet, literary critic, editor and festival producer. His poetic debut Ανατομία was published in 2019 by the Greek publishing house Vakxikon, the same year Anatomija was published by the Centre for Slovenian Literature. A Czech translation is currently being prepared by the publishing house Viriditas. He lives in several cities: Ljubljana, Berlin, Prague and Lisbon – in the first he organizes the International Critics’ Symposium The Art of Criticism, the World Literatures – Fabula Festival and the Slovenian Book Days; in the second he is often working with literary house Lettrétage; in the third he is one of the program directors of the international literary festival Prague Microfestival; in the latter he often teaches at the Faculdade de Letras. He is currently preparing a new collection of poems for the Greek literary market and its Slovenian adaptation.
Tone Škrjanec (1953), pesnik in prevajalec. Diplomiral je iz sociologije na Univerzi v Ljubljani. Zatem je opravljal več bolj ali manj priložnostnih del, nazadnje pri KUD France Prešeren kot koordinator programa in organizator pesniških dogodkov, med drugim od leta 1994 ljubljanskega pesniškega festivala Trnovski terceti. Njegova prva pesniška zbirka Blues zamaha je izšla razmeroma pozno, leta 1997, druge so sledile v bolj ali manj rednih presledkih. Njegove pesniške zbirke so izšle na Poljskem, v Bolgariji, ZDA in na Hrvaškem. Rad sodeluje z različnimi glasbeniki (Jani Mujič, Ille); nekatere tovrstne zmesi poezije in glasbe so izšle tudi na ploščah (Košček hrupa in ščepec soli, 2003; Lovljenje ritma, Pri besedi z glasom in zvokom). Leta 2017 je prejel čašo nesmrtnosti Velenjica za svoj izjemen desetletni pesniški opus, leta 2018 pa Jenkovo in Veronikino nagrado za pesniško zbirko Dihaj.
Tone Škrjanec (1953), poet and translator. He graduated in sociology at the University of Ljubljana. After that he had several more or less odd jobs, the last one was in Cultural And Art Centre France Prešeren as programme coordinator and organiser of poetry events, among them from 1994 the Ljubljana poetry festival The Tercets of Trnovo. His first poetry collection The Blues of Swing came out relatively late, in 1997, others followed on a fairly regular basis. Books of his poetry have been published in Poland, Bulgaria, US and Croatia. He likes to collaborate with different musicians (Jani Mujič, Ille); some of these fusions of poetry and music have also appeared on the records (A Bit of Noise and a Pinch of Salt, 2003; Catching the Rhythm, The Word in Voice and Sound). In 2017 he received the Velenjica, Cup of Immortality Award, for his outstanding ten-year poetry oeuvre and in 2018 Jenko Award and Veronika Award for his poetry collection Breathe.
Nina Virant & Ansambel za preužitek

Nina Virant je pevka, kantavtorica in vokalna pedagoginja, ki že nekaj let skrbno raziskuje in nadgrajuje svoj glasbeni izraz. V času študija je bila razpeta med Slovenijo in Nizozemsko, petje je namreč študirala na Konservatoriju v Amsterdamu. V njeni glasbi se prepletajo različni vplivi in slogi, vse od glasbenega izročila slovanskih kultur, popa, jazza, do eksperimentalnih žanrov, progresivnega rocka, punka in sodobnega gledališča. Nase je opozorila na Festivalu Slovenskega šansona leta 2013 z Ansamblom za slovese, leto kasneje je nastopila na Festivalu Slovenske popevke, leta 2019 je otvorila Ljubljana Jazz Festival s projektom LAS., pri katerem je sodelovala z rusko glasbenico Allo Blehman. Z Rokom Zalokarjem (skupaj tvorita umetniško ime Dvojina) sta leta 2017 predstavila in izdala album z naslovom LiLa, na katerem je 10 slovenskih ljudskih skladb z novimi, sodobnimi aranžmaji. V Amsterdamu je sodelovala tudi z gledališko režiserko Ilario Forciniti in nastopala s sodobno gledališko skupino NIM Theatre.
Nina Virant is a singer, songwriter and voice teacher who has been carefully exploring and developing her musical expression for a number of years. During her studies, she lived between Slovenia and the Netherlands, studying singing at the Amsterdam Conservatorium. Her music is a fusion of various influences and styles, everything from the musical traditions of Slavic cultures, pop and jazz to experimental genres, progressive rock, punk and contemporary theatre. She first caught the audience’s attention at the Festival of Slovenian chanson in 2013 with Ansambel za slovese and appeared at the Festival of Slovenian Song Festival a year later. In 2019, she opened the Ljubljana Jazz Festival with the LAS project, a collaboration with Russian musician Alla Blehman. In 2017, Nina and Rok Zalokar (the other half of the duo Dvojina) presented and released an album entitled LiLa, featuring 10 Slovenian folk songs with new, modern arrangements. In Amsterdam she also collaborated with theatre director Ilaria Forciniti and performed with the contemporary theatre group NIM Theatre.

Mary B. Tolusso živi med Trstom in Milanom. Med drugim je objavila pesniške zbirke L’inverso ritrovato (Lietocolle, 2003), Il freddo e il crudele (Stampa2009, 2012), Disturbi del desiderio (Stampa 2009, 2018) in Apolide (Mondadori, 2022) ter romana L’imbalsamatrice (Gaffi, 2010) in L’esercizio del distacco (Bollati Boringhieri). Za publikacijo Visioni dell’aldilà prima di Dante je prevedla tudi delo Giacomina da Verone (Mondadori, 2017). Nekatere njene pesmi so bile vključene v publikacijo Velocità della visione. Poeti dopo il Duemila (Fondazione Mondadori, 2017). Je dobitnica nagrad Premio Pasolini 2004 in Premio Fogazzaro 2012.
Mary B. Tolusso lives between Trieste and Milan. Poeti dopo il Duemila (Fondazione Mondadori, 2017). She has been awarded the Premio Pasolini 2004 and the Premio Fogazzaro 2012.
_kašmir_ je novonastala formacija, ki v jedru sestoji iz vokala in akustične kitare. Glasbo ustvarjata Barbara Rehar in Tomislav Grozaj, dvojec, ki za lastno uporabo ustvarja že leta, od lani pa obišče tudi studio in pripravi kak koncert. Namen njune glasbe je slikanje občutij. Rada sta melanholična, zasanjana, hrepeneča, tudi jezna in satirična. Lani sta posnela skladbo Sence in v svojo družbo povabila bobnarja Boruta Rampiha in producenta Vlada Lešnjaka, ki je v projektu prevzel vlogo basista. V vojaškem zaklonišču, kjer vadita pod tonami železja in betona, že kakšno dobro leto nastajajo mehkobne pesmi kašmirja.
_kašmir_ is a newly-established formation consisting, in its core, of the vocal and the acoustic guitar. The music is created by Barbara Rehar and Tomislav Grozaj – a duo that has been playing together for many years. Since last year, however, they have also been going to the studio and giving concerts. The aim of their music is to paint emotions. They like to be melancholic, dreamy, longing, but also angry and satirical. Last year, they recorded the song Sence (Shadows), inviting the drummer Borut Rampih and the producer Vlado Lešnjak to join them, the latter also taking on the role of bass player. In the military shelter, where they rehearse under tons of iron and concrete, they have been producing gentle songs from cashmere for more than a year.

Anja Mugerli (1984) je pisateljica in lektorica. Leta 2010 je diplomirala iz slovenistike na Univerzi v Novi Gorici, leta 2015 pa magistrirala iz uprizoritvenih študij in kreativnega pisanja na Fakulteti za humanistične študije na Univerzi na Primorskem. Leta 2015 je izšel njen prvenec – zbirka kratke proze Zeleni fotelj, leta 2017 pa roman Spovin (oba Litera, Maribor). Pri Cankarjevi založbi je konec leta 2020 izšla zbirka sedmih kratkih zgodb Čebelja družina, ki je bila leta 2021 nominirana za nagrado novo mesto short in ki je istega leta prejela nagrado Evropske unije za književnost (EUPL).
Anja Mugerli (1984) is a writer and proof-reader. She graduated in Slovenian language and literature from the University of Nova Gorica in 2010 and obtained her MA in theatre studies and creative writing from the University of Primorska in 2015. She released her debut – the collection of short stories Zeleni fotelj (The Green Armchair) in 2015 and her novel Spovin in 2017 (both published by Litera, Maribor). At the end of 2020, Cankarjeva založba published her collection of seven short stories Čebelja družina (The Bee Family), which was nominated for the 2021 novo mesto short award and received the 2021 EU Prize for Literature (EUPL).
Jana Beltran je ena vidnejših glasbenih ustvarjalk na področju kantavtorstva pri nas. Njeno delo dobro poznamo predvsem preko glasbe dua All Strings Detached, zadnja leta pa se posveča solo karieri. Leta 2020 je izdala samostojni prvenec Amoretti (ŠKUC, 2020), na katerem najdemo sedem avtorskih skladb: napisane v slovenščini in uglasbene z raznovrstnim instrumentarijem (elektro-akustična kitara, električni bas, melodika, pianino…). Njen novi, čisto svež solo album To the Moon je letos izšel pri Škucu.
Jana Beltran is one of the most notable singers-songwriters in Slovenia. She is most well-known as a member of the musical duo All Strings Detached but has been focusing on her solo career in recent years. In 2020 she released her first independent record Amoretti (ŠKUC, 2020), featuring seven original songs, written in Slovenian and performed with various instruments (elektro-acoustic guitar, electric bass, melodica, upright piano, etc.). Her brand new album To the Moon was released this year by Škuc.

Lukas Debeljak, rojen 1999 v Ljubljani. Po dokončanem študiju filozofije v Kaliforniji obiskuje program Etična in politična misel na Bard College v Berlinu. Svojo poezijo objavlja v Sloveniji (Idiot, Dialogi, Lite-ratura, Zamenjave) in tujini (Enklava, Slavicum Press, Rukopisi). Ukvarja se tudi z prevajanjem sodobne slovenske poezije (Harlamov, Milovanović), teoretskih besedil (Balžalorsky; Lirski Subjekt, publikacija Alternator), ter muzejskih besedil (Galerija Jakopič, Maska, MGLC). Leta 2017 je objavil chapbook Krožna/obodna hitrost (Mala ignorirana knjižica), ki je doživela ponatis. Zbirka Poznati kot voda (Aleph, 2022) pa je njegov pesniški prvenec.
Lukas Debeljak, born in 1999 in Ljubljana. After completing his studies in philosophy in California, he is now attending the Ethics and Politics programme at Bard College in Berlin. He publishes his poetry in Slovenia (Idiot, Dialogi, Lite-ratura and Zamenjave) and abroad (Enklava, Slavicum Press and Rukopisi). He also translates contemporary Slovenian poetry (Harlamov and Milovanović), theoretical works (Balžalorsky; Lirski Subjekt and Alternator), and museum texts (the Jakopič Gallery, Maska and the MGLC Gallery). In 2017 he published the chapbook Krožna/obodna hitrost (Mala ignorirana knjižica) – Circular/Circumferential Speed (The Little Ignored Booklet), which was later reprinted. His collection Poznati kot voda – To Know Like Water (Aleph, 2022) is his poetry debut.
Jernej Marušič, bolj znan kot Octex, velja za enega bolj uveljavljenih izvajalcev slovenske elektronske glasbe, ki se giblje med klubom in avantgardo in raziskuje unikatne ritmične atmosfere. Lani se je s svojim petim albumom Mindrifft in zagonom lastne založbe Polynya music vrnil iz nekajletne glasbene samoizolacije. Njegov prvenec Idei Lahesna (Tehnika, 2002) še danes velja za enega najboljših dub-techno albumov, za katerega je prejel nagrado Bumerang in bil dve leti zaporedoma izbran med 10 finalistov za nagrado RFI. Sledeča albuma Variations (rx:tx, 2005) in Every Sound Tells a Story (rx:tx, 2009) sta predstavila njegovo željo po eksperimentiranju in oddaljevanju od klubskih korenin. Leta 2012 je luč sveta zagledal album Dead Center of Nowhere (Entropy records), ambientalno nadaljevanje prvenca. Remiksiral je izvajalce kot so Laibach, Ultra Red, Marko Furstenberg, Gabriel Le Mar in mnoge druge. Od leta 2009 do 2014 je sodeloval v triu za improvizirano elektronsko glasbo Ago Tela.
Jernej Marušič, better known as Octex, is one of the most important figures in Slovenian electronic music, oscillating between clubs and the avant-garde and exploring unique rhythmic atmospheres. Last year, he released his fifth album Mindrifft and started his own record company Polynya music, making his return from a few years of musical self-isolation. His first album Idei Lahesna (Tehnika, 2002) is still considered one of the best dub-techno albums, for which he received the Bumerang Award and was one of the 10 finalists for the RFI Award two years in a row. His next two albums, Variations (rx:tx, 2005) and Every Sound Tells a Story (rx:tx, 2009) showcased his desire to experiment and move away from his club roots. Sampurna Chattarji (rojena 1970, Dessie, Etiopija) je pisateljica, prevajalka, urednica in učiteljica. Objavila je dvajset knjig, med drugim zbirko kratkih zgodb o Bombaju/Mumbaju—Dirty Love (Umazana ljubezen; Penguin, 2013), in deset pesniških zbirk – nazadnje Space Gulliver: Chronicles of an Alien (Vesoljski Guliver: Pripovedi Nezemljana; HarperCollins, 2020), ki jo je napisala med pisateljsko rezidenco na Univerzi v Kentu. Njeni prevodi poezije in proze Sukumarja Raya – Wordygurdyboom! – so bili uvrščeni v serijo Puffin Classic, njen prevod pesmi v prozi Joy Goswami, z naslovom After Death Comes Water (Po smrti pride voda; HarperCollins, 2021), pa je bil opisan kot poustvaritev bengalskih izvirnikov »v živem glasu, izvirna in živa kot Joyceova angleščina«. Uredila je tudi antologiji Sweeping the Front Yard (Pometanje dvorišča; 2010), ki združuje pesnice, pišoče v angleščini, malajalščini, teluškem jeziku in urduju; in Future Library: Contemporary Indian Writing (Knjižnica prihodnosti: sodobna indijska pisava; ki bo izšla julija 2022 pri Red Hen Press, ZDA). Sampurna Chattarji (born 1970, Dessie, Ethiopia) is a writer, translator, editor and teacher. Her twenty books include the collection of short stories about Bombay/Mumbai—Dirty Love (Penguin, 2013); and ten poetry titles – the latest being Space Gulliver: Chronicles of an Alien (HarperCollins, 2020), composed during her writing residency at the University of Kent. Her translation of Sukumar Ray’s poetry and prose – Wordygurdyboom! – is a Puffin Classic; and her translation of Joy Goswami’s prose poems After Death Comes Water (HarperCollins, 2021) has been lauded as a recreation of the Bangla originals in “a living voice, as inventive and vivid as the English of Joyce”. Her work as an anthologist includes Sweeping the Front Yard (2010), which features women poets writing in English, Malayalam, Telugu and Urdu; and Future Library: Contemporary Indian Writing (forthcoming July 2022 from Red Hen Press, USA). She was the Paris Writer in Residence with the American University of Paris and the University of Kent Paris School in 2019, and currently teaches writing to design students at IIT, Bombay.
Shoe & Shoelace je novi duet, ki ga sestavljata izkušeni tolkalist, ustvarjalec elektronske glasbe, skladatelj in improvizator Jaka Berger ter nekoliko mlajši saksofonist in klarinetist Jure Boršič. Duet je bil zasnovan kot izvedba mednarodnega tria Bootleg Unit, v katerem je poleg slovenskih glasbenikov sodeloval tudi francoski ustvarjalec elektronike Colin Petit, in je manipuliral in vzorčil akustične zvočne vire s pomočjo kasete in učinkov. Obdobje koronavirusa je močno omejilo možnosti mednarodnega sodelovanja, zato sta se Berger in Boršič, ki sta tudi del tria Niemoy in pred leti del Bergerjevega projekta Tentet of the Audible Life Stream, odločila, da naprej raziskujeta soobstajanje organskih in elektronskih zvokov. Njune modulirane improvizacije z močnim, svobodnim jazzom, vplivi noisa in ambientalne glasbe ter punka, bodo kmalu izšle na prvem albumu pri Bergerjevi založbi Sound Droughts.
Shoe & Shoelace is a new duo of seasoned percussionist, electronics artist, composer and improviser Jaka Berger and slightly younger saxophonist and clarinetist Jure Boršič. The duet was formed as a rendition of the international trio Bootleg Unit, in which, in addition to Slovenian musicians, the French electronics maker Colin Petit also participated, manipulating and looping acoustic sound sources with the help of a tape and effects. The corona period greatly narrowed the possibilities of international cooperation, so Berger and Boršič, who also participate in the Niemoy trio and years ago in Berger’s project Tentet of the Audible Life Stream, decided to further explore the coexistence of organic and electronic sounds. Their modulated improvisation with strong free jazz, noisier as well as ambient and punk influences will be released shortly in the form of their first album on Berger’s Sound Droughts label.

Tom Veber (Maribor, 1995), pesnik, performer, vizualni umetnik, urednik in kulturni producent. Je zmagovalec Pesniške olimpijade 2018, MKC-jevega natečaja »Ali govoriš emojščino« in natečaja Naj pesem v sklopu festivala Dnevi poezije in vina v letu 2020. Leta 2019 je pri Literarni družbi Maribor izdal pesniški prvenec Točka preloma. V letu 2021 je v UKM-ju postavil razstavo Prehajanje elementov, kjer se je ukvarjal s prostorsko postavitvijo poezije. Je glavni urednik spletne platfome Stigma, uredil pa je tudi antologijo pesniške skupine Psevdopoeti Milimeter in pol in antologijo Srca v igri – izbor leposlovnih del mladih slovenskih avtoric_jev LGBTQ+. V sklopu festivala Slovenski dnevi knjige v Mariboru in projekta Maribor skozi rožnata očala je organiziral večere z naslovom Mlada slovenska literatura LGBTQ+. Njegova druga pesniška zbirka Do tu sega gozd je izšla lani pri založbi Lambda.
Tom Veber (Maribor, 1995), poet, performer, visual artist, editor and cultural producer. He is the winner of the 2018 Poetry Olympics, the MKC competition “Do you speak emo” and the Best Poem competition at the 2020 Day of Poetry and Wine Festival. In 2019, Literarna družba Maribor published his poetry debut Točka preloma (Breaking Point). In 2021 he put on an exhibition at the Maribor University Library entitled Prehajanje elementov (Elements in Transition), dealing with the spatial dimensions of poetry. He is the chief editor of the Stigma platform; he also edited the anthology of the poetry group Psevdopoeti, Milimeter in pol (One Millimetre and a Half) and the anthology Srca v igri (Hearts at Play) – selected literary works by young Slovenian LGBTQ+ authors. As part of the Slovenian Book Days in Maribor and the project Maribor through Rose-Coloured Glasses, he organised literary evenings entitled Young Slovenian LGBTQ+ Poetry. His second poetry collection Do tu sega gozd (This Is Where the Forest Ends) was published in the ŠKUC Lambda series last year.
Patricija Škof je mlada slovenska vokalistka, dobitnica nagrade 44th Downbeat Student Music Award (kategorija Vocal Jazz Soloist) priznane ameriške revije Downbeat, članica Bundesjazzorchestra, JM Jazz World Orchestra in avtorskega projekta birds of unknown, s katerim izdaja v letu 2022 tudi debitantski album. Pred kratkim je iz smeri jazz petja diplomirala na Univerzi za glasbo in upodabljajoče umetnosti v Grazu, trenutno pa ustvarja in koncertira tako doma kot na tujem.
Patricija Škof is a young Slovenian vocalist, winner of the 44th Downbeat Student Music Award (in the Vocal Jazz Soloist category) of the renowned American magazine Downbeat, member of the Bundesjazzorchestra, the JM Jazz World Orchestra and author of the project birds of unknown, which will also be released as her debut album in 2022. She recently graduated in jazz singing from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and is currently making music and performing at home and abroad.

Tina Vrščaj piše že od malih nog. Od leta 2010 deluje kot svobodna umetnica. Napisala je tri romane, Zataknjena v pomladi (2010), Odradek (2012) in Na Klancu, ki je prejel nagrado modra ptica (maja 2022 izide pri Cankarjevi založbi). Napisala je zbirko kratkih zgodb Plašč (2018) in zbirko kritik Kritičarka na drevesu (2020). Včasih potisne prozo za odrasle na stran in spiše kaj za otroke; v Čebelici je izšel Plah, plašen, najplašnejši Tapatapata (2017), v Deteljici pa Balabuga! (2021). Njen esej Srečno pospravljeni je bil ovenčan z nagrado Slovenskih dnevov knjige za najboljši esej 2019. Tina Vrščaj tudi prevaja iz angleščine. Prevedla je Jezusovo otroštvo J. M. Coetzeeja (2014), Ekonomijo želje Daniela M. Bella Jr. (2016) ter Nove in izbrane eseje Denise Levertov (2019). Poučevala je angleščino na več osnovnih šolah, zdaj pa je zaposlena kot urednica pri založbi Beletrina.
Tina Vrščaj has been writing since she was little. She became a freelance artist in 2010. She has written three novels, Zataknjena v pomladi (Stuck in Spring, 2010), Odradek (2012) and Na Klancu (On the Hill), which received the modra ptica award (to be published in May 2022 by Cankarjeva založba). She is also the author of the short story collection Plašč (Coat, 2018) and the collection of critiques Kritičarka na drevesu (Critic on the Tree, 2020). Sometimes she puts adult fiction aside and writes something for children; Plah, plašen, najplašnejši Tapatapata (Timid, More Timid, the most Timid Tapatapata, 2017) was published in the Čebelica series and Balabuga! (2021) in the Deteljica series. Her essay Srečno pospravljeni (Happily Put Away) received the award of Slovenian Book Days for best essay in 2019. Tina Vrščaj also translates from English. She has translated The Childhood of Jesus by J. M. Coetzee (2014), The Economy of Desire by Daniel M. Bell Jr. (2016) and New and Selected Essays by Denise Levertov (2019). She taught English at several primary schools and is now an editor at Beletrina.
Mitja Uršič in Maruša Jenič, glasbena ustvarjalca, ki sta spomladi 2020 oblikovala Strunoslav, duo s kitaro, violino ter slovenskimi avtorskimi besedili. Mitja Uršič (1985) je kitarist samouk, poleg ustvarjanja in izpopolnjevanja na inštrumentu piše poezijo ter se občasno ukvarja s prevajanjem filozofije (npr. knjige Muren: igre, življenje in utopija; Sophia, 2020 in Pogovori v limbu; Apokalipsa, 2013). Maruša Jenič (1977) je v otroštvu obiskovala glasbeno šolo, smer violina, po tem pa je sodelovala v različnih avtorskih, etno, kabarejskih zasedbah (npr. na festivalih Trnfest, Mesto žensk, Poletje v NUK, Plavajoči grad, v Celici, Prulčku, Daktariju itd). Marca 2021 sta v samozaložbi izdala svoj prvenec Špečmeš, zatem sta se javnosti predstavila na dogodkih Praznik glasbe, festival Plavajoči grad, Kantfest in Cmakajne. Od prvenca, ki je predstavljal preplet ljudskih in avtorskih pesmi, sta prešla na ustvarjanje pretežno avtorske glasbe. Tako bo na novem albumu deset avtorskih skladb ter dve uglasbeni pesmi Frana Levstika.
Mitja Uršič and Maruša Jenič, musicians who, in spring 2020, formed Strunoslav, a guitar and violin duet with original Slovenian songs. Mitja Uršič (1985) is a self-taught guitarist who, in addition to making music and perfecting his guitar skills, writes poetry and occasionally translates works of philosophy (e.g. The Grasshopper: Games, Life and Utopia; Sophia, 2020, and Conversations in Limbo; Apokalipsa, 2013). Maruša Jenič (1977) went to music school as a child where she learned to play the violin, and was later a member of various original music, ethno, cabaret groups (e.g. playing at festivals such as Trnfest, the City of Women, the Summer Festival at NUK, the Floating Castle, at Celica, Prulček, Daktari, etc.). In March 2021, the duet self-released their first album Špečmeš and then played at Fête de la musique, the Floating Castle Festival, Kantfest and Cmakajne. Since their debut, which was a mix of folk and original songs, they have moved onto making mostly original music. Their new album will therefore feature ten original songs and two poems by Fran Levstik set to music.

Umetnika raziskujeta odnos med zvokom in besedo tako, da sledita čustvom, notranji energiji, ki vznika v prostorih, v katerih se srečujeta. Klavirska glasba in poezija se prepletata znotraj izraznega procesa: senzorično doživljanje čustev se preliva v tok gibanja navzven, v okolje. Posebno pozornost posvečata »veselju«, »radosti«, ki se porajata ob umetniškem (so)ustvarjanju, kot tudi širše. Pri tem se navezujeta na vsebino besede »joy«, ki znotraj trubadurskega pesništva opisuje duševno stanje, ki kljub prisotnosti bolečine (ali prav zaradi te), ustvarja prostor, kjer napetosti med nasprotji izginejo, se transformirajo v (kozmično) vibracijo užitka.
The two artists explore the relationship between the sound and the word by pursuing their emotions, their inner energy arising in the spaces where they meet. Piano music and poetry intertwine within the expressive process: the sensorial experience of emotions flows outwards, into the environment. In addition, they attach special attention to “happiness”, “joy” arising during the co-creative process, but also in broader terms. They refer to the meaning of the world “joie”, which, in the context of the troubadour lyric poetry denotes a mental state that, despite the presence of pain (or perhaps precisely because of it), generates a space where the tensions between antagonisms disappear, transforming themselves into a (cosmic) vibration of pleasure.

Delmar Maia Gonçalves, rojen leta 1969 v Mozambiku, zdaj pa že dolgo let živi na Portugalskem. Za svoje pesniško delo (piše v portugalščini) je prejel več nagrad. Je tudi profesor in predava na različnih univerzah po svetu. Nekaj let je vodil krog mozambiških piscev, ki ne živijo v domovini.
Delmar Maia Gonçalves, born 1969 in Mozambique, now a long-time resident in Portugal. He has received several awards for his poetry (writing in Portuguese). He is also a professor, teaching at various universities around the world. For a few years, he ran a circle of expat Mozambique writers.
Perkakšns
Najprej je bil boben sredi Krakova, ki je začaral Anžeta Kristana, deset let kasneje, leta 2001, pa bobnarski nastop za uvod v festival Zarjavele trobente v Litiji. Tako je nastala skupina Perkakšns. V naslednjih letih je delovanje uokvirila v Kulturno umetniško društvo HUD, člani so se začeli udeleževati glasbenih delavnic, vadili so vse resneje, širili repertoar in vse več nastopali. Med odmevnejšimi nastopi je nekaj Škisovih tržnic, MatKultra, Zasavje se predstavi v Cankarjevem domu v Ljubljani, Cvičkarija, Final Flash 2005 in 2006, številni nastopi v lastni organizaciji, ter gostovanja v Bosni, Avstriji, Nemčiji in na Hrvaškem. Skupina Perkakšns v okviru Kulturno umetniškega društva HUD vsako leto pripravi samostojni letni koncert v Litiji, poleg tega pa so gostje na številnih drugih prireditvah, koncertih in festivalih v občini in izven. Skupino vodi Anže Kristan – Kiki, diplomant bobnarske šole Zlatka Kaučiča, vodja Male šole za tolkala v Litiji in mentor mladi kombo skupini, član številnih glasbenih skupin. V letu 2016 je kot član ansambla Sare Renar prejel Porina za najboljši debitantski album na Hrvaškem. V zadnjem času pripravlja skupen projekt z Zoranom Zorkom, večkratnim svetovnim prvakom v igranju na diatonično harmoniko, je tudi član več drugih zasedb.
First there was a drum in the middle of Krakow that put a spell on Anže Kristan, and ten years later, in 2001, a drum performance that opened the Rusty Trumpets Festival in Litija. That was how Perkakšns was formed. In the following years, the group made music as part of the HUD Cultural and Arts Society, the members started taking part in music workshops, practicing harder, expending their repertory and playing more concerts. Their most notable appearances include several editions of the Škis Market, MatKultra, Zasavje Takes over the Ljubljana Cankarjev dom, Cvičkarija, Final Flash 2005 and 2006, various self-organised performances and touring in Bosnia, Austria, Germany and Croatia. Every year, Perkakšns holds an independent annual concert in Litija as part of the HUD and makes guest appearances at many other events, concert and festivals in the municipality and elsewhere. The leader of the group is Anže Kristan – Kiki, a graduate of the Zlatko Kaučič drum school, head of the Percussion Preschool in Litija, mentor to a young combo group and member of several bands. In 2016, he received the Porin Award for best Croatian debut album as part of the Sara Renar Band. He is currently working on a joint project with Zoran Zorko, absolute world champion of diatonic harmonica, also a member of several other groups.

Študentski kulturni center – ŠKUC je nastal 10. marca leta 1972, kmalu po radikalnem študentskem gibanju 70-ih, in je imel velik vpliv na kulturne in družbene spremembe. V 80-ih je ŠKUC odigral vodilno vlogo pri razvoju infrastrukture in alternativne kulture v Sloveniji in tudi Jugoslaviji. V 90-ih je oral ledino v nevladnem sektorju in razširil svoje delovanje na mnoga področja, od zdravstva do informiranja za mlade.
Na mnogih kulturno-umetniških področjih je bil ŠKUC na čelu – tu so prvič razstavljale_i uveljavljene_i umetnice_ki in kolektivi: Irwin, Duba Sambolec, Emerik Bernard, Marjetica Potrč, V.S.S.D., Dušan Mandić … Oblikovala se je prva jugoslovanska produkcija sodobnega in eksperimentalnega videa, kjer so ustvarjali skupina Borghesia, Neven Korda, Zemira Alajbegović, Marina Gržinić. Pri ŠKUC-u so izšle prve plošče legendarnih glasbenih imen: Tomaž Pengov, Pankrti, Laibach, Borghesia, Otroci socializma, Via ofenziva in Čao pičke!. Izšli so pionirski glasbeni, ženski, gejevski in lezbični fanzini. V filmski sekciji je nastala prva slovenska celovečerna risanka Socializacija bika ter mnogo nagrajenih celovečernih in dokumentarnih filmov. V okviru ŠKUC-a oz. zveze ŠKUC-Forum so začeli tudi prodorno gledališče Ane Monro, založba Studia humanitatis, Založba FV, Klub K4, E-motion film, festival Novi rock in drugi.
V ŠKUC-u so se formalno organizirala tudi družbena gibanja iz 80-ih: prva feministična skupina Lilit in LGBT-gibanje s prvo gejevsko skupino Magnus, nato lezbično skupino LL, edinstvenima na tleh bivše Jugoslavije. Tukaj se je zgodil prvi festival Magnus – Homoseksualnost in kultura, nato Festival lezbičnega in gejevskega filma. Nastali sta specializirani LGBT-zbirki Lambda in lezbična Vizibilija ter Lezbična knjižnica, edina tovrstna v širši regiji.
ŠKUC ostaja edinstveni na področju vizualnih umetnosti, glasbe, literature, založništva, filma in videa, gledališča, LGBT-aktivizma, informiranja in svetovanja za mlade, otroškega programa, sociale, knjižničarstva, arhiviranja, festivalske in LGBT-klubske dejavnosti. Vsako leto ŠKUC organizira festivale, ki so ključni za oživitev centra Ljubljane, med njimi Živo književnost, O´živelo knjiga, Dobimo se pred Škucem, Teater v Galeriji, Lezbično četrt, Topografije zvoka, Chilli Space in najstarejši Festival LGBT filma v Evropi. ŠKUC tudi sodeluje v mnogih pomembnih mednarodnih projektih oziromas mrežah, na primer, Bienalu mladih ustvarjalcev iz Evrope in Sredozemlja, ERA, Erica… Mnoge_i avtorice_ji, s katerimi sodelujemo, so dobitnice_ki številnih nagrad in priznanj doma in v tujini.
The Student Cultural Centre – ŠKUC was established on 10 March 1972, soon after the radical student movement in the 1970s, and was instrumental in bringing about cultural and social change. In the 1980s, ŠKUC played a leading part in the development of infrastructure and alternative culture in Slovenia and Yugoslavia. In the 1990s, it spearheaded the formation of the NGO sector, expanding its activities to a number of areas, from healthcare to information services for young people.
ŠKUC was at the forefront in many fields of culture and art – its exhibition space was where many established artists and collectives made their debut: Irwin, Duba Sambolec, Emerik Bernard, Marjetica Potrč, V.S.S.D., Dušan Mandić, etc. It gave birth to the first Yugoslav production of contemporary and experimental video, with the likes of Borghesia, Neven Korda, Zemira Alajbegović and Marina Gržinić. ŠKUC released the first records of music legends, such as Tomaž Pengov, Pankrti, Laibach, Borghesia, Otroci socializma, Via ofenziva and Čao pičke!. It published pioneer music, genre, women’s, gay and lesbian fanzines. Its film section produced the first Slovenian animated feature film Socializacija bika (Socialisation of a Bull) and many award-winning feature and documentary films. ŠKUC or the ŠKUC Forum was also the cradle of the innovative Ana Monro Theatre, the Studia humanitatis publishing house, the FV publishing house, the K4 Club, E-motion film, the New Rock Festival, etc.
ŠKUC provided the foundation for the formal organisation of the 1980s social movements: the first feminist group Lilit and the LGBT movement with the first gay section Magnus and later the lesbian section LL, both one of a kind on the territory of former Yugoslavia. This is where the first Magnus Festival – Homosexuality and Culture took place, later changing its name to the Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. It provided a home to the specialised LGBT book series Lambda and the lesbian book series Vizibilija, as well as the Lesbian Library, the only such library in the wider region.
ŠKUC remains a unique phenomenon in visual arts, music, literature, publishing, film and video, theatre, LGBT activism, information services and counselling for young people, children’s programme, social issues, library activities, archiving, festivals and LGBT club events. Every year, ŠKUC organises festivals that are vital to the life of the centre of Ljubljana, including the Living Literature Festival, O´živela knjiga, Let’s Meet in Front of ŠKUC, Theatre in the Gallery, the Lesbian Quarter, Topographies of Sound, Chilli Space and the oldest LGBT film festival in Europe. ŠKUC also takes part in many important international projects and networks, such as The Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean, the ERA, Erica, etc. Many authors that we work with have won numerous awards and accolades both at home and abroad.
