
Letos bo 25. literarno-glasbeni festival Živa književnost med 8. in 15. junijem 2018 spletel svoje 25 gnezdo pred Galerijo Škuc na Starem trgu 21. V 25 letih smo predstavili številne tuje in domače literarne avtorje_ice in glasbene ustvarjalce_ke, ki so z raznolikimi glasovi, verzi, ritmi, pripovedmi, melodijami in hrupom spojili radoživost z melanholijo, dvomom in upanjem. Ob tej priložnosti se programska skupina Žive književnosti zahvaljuje vsem sodelujočim ter zvestim obiskovalcem_kam. Vabimo vas, da nas tudi letos obiščete in z nami preživite čas med poletom literature in glasbe.
Festival bo razprl krila z otvoritvenim Večerom z nemško-slovenske pesniške prevajalske delavnice, na katerem bodo pesniki_ce Hendrik Jackson, Jana Putrle Srdić, Rike Scheffler, Sonja vom Brocke, Vesna Liponik in Uroš Prah prebirali pesmi, ki so jih skozi skupno raziskovanje pomenov medsebojno prevedli.
Literarne peruti bosta raztegnila tudi prozaistka Lejla Kalamujić iz Bosne in Hercegovine ter pesnik Edward Foster iz ZDA.
Nekaj večerov zapored bodo na oder stopili_e literati_ke Aleš Mustar, Anja Radaljac, Jernej Županič, Kristina Hočevar in Nina Dragičević, ki pišejo v slovenskem jeziku in na svojevrsten način ubesedujejo sodobnost in kompleksne odnose življenja. Ob pestrem izboru književnih peres bomo prisluhnili glasbi Bogdane Herman in Tomaža Raucha, Ex Erotičnih, Ane Vipotnik in Igorja Leonardija, JUNEsHELEN, Sama Kutina, Tomaža O. Rousa, Marka Karlovčca in Kvarteta klarinetov A vista.
Dogajanje bosta spremljali tudi dve razstavi, in sicer 33 let zbirke Aleph – kako se je kalila slovenska literatura! s primerki knjig zbirke Aleph Centra za slovensko književnost, zasnovana v podporu nadaljnjemu obstoju zbirke Aleph, ter razstava tipografskih plakatov Tipografski Cankar Marka Drpića. Ob teh si bomo ogledali performansa Stanje po Bitencu Maje Miloševič ter Čaj ob polnoči Alje Adam in Kaje Teržan.
Pred večernimi dogodki bo v popoldanskih urah potekal spremljevalni program O’živela knjiga, namenjen otrokom in njihovemu začetnemu spoznavanju in druženju s knjigami. Tako se bodo zvrstile lutkovne in gledališke predstave, predstavitev slikanice, šivanih ilustracij, stripa ter pogovori z njihovimi avtoricami_ji in ustvarjalne delavnice, kot so delavnica kreativnega pisanja, stripa in animiranega filma in številne druge.
Vsi dogodki so brezplačni.

Sonja vom Brocke se je rodila leta 1980 in odraščala v Hagnu. Študirala je filozofijo ter nemški in angleški jezik in literaturo v Kölnu, Hamburgu in Parizu. Njena besedila so bila objavljena v antologijah in literarnih revijah, kot so Sprache im technischen Zeitalter, Randnummer, PARK, Lyrik von Jetzt in All dies hier, Majestät, ist deins. Lyrik im Anthropozän. Leta 2010 je izdala knjižico Ohne Tiere, ki ji je leta 2015 sledila avtoričina pesniška zbirka Venice singt. Sonja vom Brocke živi v Berlinu.
Sonja vom Brocke was born in 1980 and grew up in Hagen. She studied philosophy, German and English language and literature in Cologne, Hamburg, and Paris. Her texts have appeared in anthologies and literary journals such as Sprache im technischen Zeitalter, Randnummer, PARK, Lyrik von Jetzt, and All dies hier, Majestät, ist deins. Lyrik im Anthropozän. In 2010, the slim volume Ohne Tiere was released, followed by vom Brocke’s collection of poems Venice singt in 2015. Sonja vom Brocke lives in Berlin.
Hendrik Jackson se je rodil leta 1971 v Düsseldorfu. Odraščal je v Münstru (Westfalen). Študiral je film, slavistiko in filozofijo v Berlinu, kjer živi kot samostojni pisatelj, prevajalec in urednik. Poleg pisanja poezije, esejev in prevajanja predvsem ruskih del organizira tudi branja in kampanje ter sodeluje z umetniškimi festivali in radiom. Jackson sedi tudi v uredniškem odboru portala www.lyrikkritik.de. Za svoje delo je prejel številne nagrade. Njegovi zadnji deli sta: Sein gelassen (2016) in Panikraum (2018). Hendrik Jackson was born in Düsseldorf in 1971. He grew up in Münster (Westfalen). He studied film, Slavic studies and philosophy in Berlin, where he lives as a freelance author, translator and editor. Besides his work as a poet, essayist and translator of works primarily from Russian, he also organises readings and campaigns and has worked for art festivals and radio with sound. Vesna Liponik (1993, Maribor) je podiplomska študentka primerjalne književnosti in literarne teorije ter slovenskega jezika na Filozofski fakulteti v Ljubljani. Svoja besedila objavlja na spletu (LUD Literatura …) in v literarnih revijah (Idiot, Mentor, Apokalipsa, Dialogi, Literatura). Nekatera so bila prevedena v srbščino (Rukopisi 38) in nemščino (antologija Lyrik für Alle, mosaik22). Je članica festivalskega kolektiva Lezbična četrt in sodelavka Radia Študent.
Vesna Liponik (1993, Maribor) is a postgraduate student of comparative literature and literary theory and Slovene language at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. Her texts have been published online (LUD Literatura …) and in literary magazines (Idiot, Mentor, Apokalipsa, Dialogi, Literatura). Some are translated into Serbian (Rukopisi 38) and German (anthology Lyrik für Alle, mosaik22). She is a member of the Lezbična četrt festival collective and works with Radio Študent.
Uroš Prah (1988, Maribor) je pesnik, pisatelj, urednik in prevajalec. Njegova prva pesniška zbirka je izšla leta 2012 in nosi neprevedljiv onomatopoetski naslov Čezse polzeči. Njegova druga pesniška zbirka s prav tako težko prevedljivim naslovom z besedno igro Tišima je ugledala luč sveta leta 2015. Leta 2008 je soustanovil ljubljansko literarno revijo IDIOT. Med letoma 2014 in 2016 je bil programski direktor mednarodnega festivala za mapiranje literarnih praks v razvoju. Leta 2015 je soustanovil Trate, muzej norosti, mednarodni interdisciplinarni raziskovalni, umetniški in družbeni center v enem najstarejših in največjih gradov v Sloveniji in nekdanji ustanovi za duševne in nevrološke bolnike, ki se nahaja v majhni obmejni vasici Cmurek, kjer je odraščal. Uroš Prah (1988, Maribor) is a poet, writer, editor, and translator. His first poetry collection came out in 2012 and carries an untranslatable, onomatopoetic title Gliding over Themselves. His second poetry collection with an also hardly translatable word-pun title Phush saw the light of day in 2015. In 2008 he co-founded the Ljubljana based literary magazine IDIOT. He was the program director of the International Festival for Developing Literary Practices – Literodrom from 2014 to 2016. In 2015 he co-founded the Museum of Madness, Trate, an international interdisciplinary research, art and social centre based in one of the oldest and biggest castles in Slovenia and a former institution for the mentally and neurologically ill, located in the small border village of Cmurek, where he grew up. Rike Scheffler je avtorica in umetnica, ki ustvarja na presečišču jezika, glasbe in performansa onkraj medijev in umetnosti. Njeno delo zajema vse od objavljanja pesniških del v revijah in antologijah do pogosto zvočno usmerjenih predstav in posebnih zvočnih instalacij. Pri nastopih v živo za instrument uporablja svoj glas, skupaj s pedali za zvočne učinke, looperji in sintetizatorji za plastenje temnejših in toplejših pesmi v poeziji. Pogosto sodeluje z drugimi umetniki, kot je mojster zvoka Claudio Puntin, in z Inštitutom za prostorske eksperimente Ólafur Elíasson http://raumexperimente.net/de/participant/rike-scheffler/. Rike Scheffler is a writer and artist, creating work at the intersection of language, music and performance across media and art forms. Her work varies from publishing poetic pieces in journals and anthologies, performance-oriented, often sound-driven shows to special sound installations. As a live performer she uses her voice as an instrument along with effect pedals, loop stations and synthesizers to layer dark and warm poem-like songs. She frequently collaborates with other artists such as sound virtuoso Claudio Puntin and Ólafur Elíasson’s Institute for Spacial Experiments http://raumexperimente.net/de/participant/rike-scheffler/. Her poetry collection Der rest ist resonanz (Kookbooks, 2014) won the Orphil Debut Prize for political and avant-garde writing. Jana Putrle Srdić (1975), pesnica in producentka za intermedijsko umetnost, avtorica umetniških filmskih kritik in prevajalka poezije, živi in dela v Ljubljani. Sodelovala je pri različnih projektih, ki združujejo poezijo in nove medije, in objavila tri pesniške zbirke. Njeni prevedena pesniška dela so se med drugim pojavila v naslednjih publikacijah: Puede pasar cualquier cosa (Buenos Aires, 2011), Este poema lo paga el pez (Madrid, 2015), În noaptea asta gândacii vor ieşi din pământ (Bukarešta, 2015), Anything Could Happen (A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2014) in prihajajoči zbirki v nemščini, ki bo objavljena leta 2018. Poleg prevajanja poezije iz angleščine, ruščine in srbščine (Robert Hass, Sapphire, Ana Ristović, Sodobna ruska poezija) dela kot producentka za različne organizacije: Center za slovensko književnost, Galerijo Kapelica in Zavod Gulag, kjer je tudi umetniška vodja.
Jana Putrle Srdić (1975), poetess and intermedia art producer, author of art film reviews and translator of poetry, lives and works in Ljubljana. She cooperates in a range of artistic projects combining poetry with new media, having also published three poetry books of her own. Her translated poetry works appear, among other, as: Puede pasar cualquier cosa (Buenos Aires, 2011), Este poema lo paga el pez (Madrid, 2015), În noaptea asta gândacii vor ieşi din pământ (Bucharest, 2015), Anything Could Happen (A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2014), and an upcoming collection in German to be published in 2018. Besides translating poetry from English, Russian and Serbian (Robert Hass, Sapphire, Ana Ristović, Contemporary Russian poetry), she works as a producer for various organizations: Center for Slovenian Literature, Kapelica Gallery and Gulag Institute, where she is also the artistic director.
Bogdana Herman & Tomaž Rauch
Bogdana Herman že več kot štiri desetletja je in ostaja prvi glas sodobne slovenske ljudske muzike. Bogdana še danes prestavlja meje in začrtuje nove smernice ljudski glasbi. Balade, ki jih je prepevala skupaj z zakoncema Terlep ter kasneje kot solistična izvajalka in poustvarjalka, so v novem tisočletju popularizirale tudi mlajše generacije in postale nepogrešljiv del njihovega repertoarja. Bogdanin gibki, kristalni glas, ki smo ga vajeni poslušati v solističnih interpretacijah, pa se je v zadnjih letih žametno postaral in se pobratil s tako raznoliko pahljačo zvokov, kot so ljudska glasbila Tomaža Raucha, cimbale Andija Sobočana, harmonika Jureta Torija, kitara Tomaža Pengova in digitalni impulzi računalnika Boruta Savskega. V vseh konstelacijah zveni enako prepričljivo, subtilno, doživeto in sveže.
For more than four decades, Bogdana Herman has been and continues to be the first voice of contemporary Slovenian folk music. Today, Bogdana is still pushing boundaries and setting new trends in folk music. The ballads that she used to sing in collaboration with the Terleps and later as a solo artist and performer have been popularised by younger generations in the new millennium, becoming an indispensable part of their repertoire. Bogdana’s nimble, crystal voice that we are used to hearing in solo interpretations has acquired a charm of patina over the years, befriending a variety of sounds, such as Tomaž Rauch’s folk instruments, Andi Sobočan’s dulcimer, Jure Tori’s accordion, Tomaž Pengov’s guitar and Borut Savski’s digital impulses. She sounds equally convincing, subtle, passionate and fresh in all constellations.
Tomaž Rauch je vsestranski glasbenik, skladatelj, pevec in multiinstrumentalist, ki se posveča raziskovanju in izvajanju slovenske ljudske glasbe, njegov skladateljski opus pa obsega tako priredbe kot avtorsko glasbo. Rauch je nepogrešljiv sogovornik in svetovalec raziskovalcem s področij etnomuzikologije in folkloristike, saj s svojim obsežnim znanjem in razumevanjem pomembno razjasnjuje številna strokovna vprašanja. Svoje vedenje o slovenski ljudski glasbi, godčevskih zasedbah in izvajalskih praksah je širil tudi v mednarodni prostor. Ljudska glasbila, ki jih tudi sam izdeluje, predstavlja v komentiranem šolskem programu za vrtce, osnovne in srednje šole. Leta 2016 je za svoje delo prejel Štrekljevo nagrado.
Tomaž Rauch is a versatile musician, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist devoted to the exploration and performance of Slovenian folk music. His compositions include both arrangements and original pieces. Rauch is an indispensable source of information and advisor to ethnomusicology and folklore studies researchers as his vast knowledge and understanding play an instrumental role in shedding light on numerous questions in the field. He has also been sharing his knowledge of Slovenian folk music, folk music groups and performance practises outside the country. He presents folk instruments, which he also makes, as part of a school programme for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. In 2016 he received the Štrekelj Award for his work.

Lejla Kalamujić (1980), Sarajevo. Končala študij filozofije in sociologije, objavlja kratke zgodbe, eseje in kritike. Na svoj nesporni pisateljski dar je opozorila že s prvo zbirko Anatomija osmijeha, za delo Kličite me Esteban (slovenski prevod v Lambdi, 2018) pa je prejela nagrado Edo Budiša za najboljšo kratkoprozno zbirko leta 2016, bila pa je tudi v ožjem izboru bosanskohercegovskih kandidatov za evropsko književno nagrado 2016.
Lejla Kalamujić (1980), Sarajevo. Kalamujić has a degree in philosophy and sociology. She is a short story writer, essayist and critic. She demonstrated her undoubted writing talent in her first short story collection The Anatomy of a Smile, and her work Call me Esteban (published in Slovenian translation in the Lambda book series, 2018) won the author the 2016 Edo Budiša Award for best short story collection and was on the Bosnian shortlist of candidates for the European Union Prize for Literature.
Ex Erotični
Zasedba v polnem pogonu deluje približno tri leta, sestavljajo pa jo mlajša pevka ter trije veterani, ki so se na glasbeno pot podali že v 80-tih, ter igrali v različnih, večinoma punk bendih (Epidemija, Spuš, Ljubljanske brzostrelke itd.), v 90-tih pa so se postopoma ustalili v punk’n’roll bendu Erotični, katerega vrhunec je bil nastop na Novem Rocku 97. Leta 2006 Erotični razpadejo, a čez nekaj let se nekateri člani znova začenjajo dobivati v prostoru za vaje na Metelkovi, vendar z nekoliko drugačnimi pogledi na morebitno prihodnje ustvarjanje, kar se počasi izkristalizira, vse skupaj pa lepo zaokroži prihod pevke Jasmine.

The band has been in full swing for around three years and consists of one young singer and three veterans who ventured down the musical path in the 1980s, playing in various, mostly punk bands (Epidemija, Spuš, Ljubljanske brzostrelke, etc.) before gradually settling down the 1990s in the band Erotični which reached its peak with the performance at the 97 Novi Rock Festival. Following their breakup in 2006, some of the band members started meeting in their rehearsal space at Metelkova again a few years later, but with a somewhat different view on potential future collaboration which slowly took shape and finally came together with the arrival of the singer Jasmina.

Aleš Mustar se je rodil 1968 v Ljubljani. Je pesnik in književni prevajalec. Diplomiral je iz angleščine in pedagogike na Filozofski fakulteti v Ljubljani in doktoriral iz romunske književnosti na Univerzi v Bukarešti. Izdal je pesniško zbirko z naslovom (U)sodno tolmačenje, ki je bila nominirana za nagrado za prvenec in je prevedena v angleški in makedonski jezik. Leta 2017 je izšla njegova druga pesniška zbirka Srednja leta. Prevaja romunsko in makedonsko književnost, predvsem sodobno prozo in poezijo. Ukvarja se tudi z gledališčem. Kot dramaturg in pisec besedil je sodeloval pri predstavah Šestnajst obratov (En-Knap, 2005) ter Feng Šus v gledališču brez igralca (Maska, 2011). Kruh si služi kot sodni tolmač.
Aleš Mustar was born in 1968 in Ljubljana. He is a poet and a literary translator. He obtained his BA in English and pedagogy from the Ljubljana Faculty of Arts and his PhD in Romanian literature from the University of Bucharest. His poetry collection Co(u)rt Interpretations was nominated for the Best First Book Award and translated into English and Macedonian. In 2017 he published his second book of poetry, Middle Age. He translates Romanian and Macedonian literature, mostly contemporary prose and poetry. He has also worked in theatre. He was dramaturg and text writer on performances Sixteen Turns (En-Knap, 2005) and Feng Shot in Theatre Without Actors (Maska, 2011). He earns his daily bread as court interpreter.
Ana Vipotnik & Igor Leonardi
Pevka Ana Vipotnik in kitarist Igor Leonardi sta kreativni par že od leta 1998. Kot gonilna sila zasedbe Fake Orchestra sta ustvarila štiri zgoščenke, ter le v zadnjih desetih letih odigrala preko 450 koncertov tako doma kot v tujini. Igor Leonardi je v svoji bogati glasbeni karieri igral s svetovno znanimi jazz glasbeniki in kultno rock skupino Metallica, na RTV Slovenija pa je bil idejni vodja glasbene oddaje Muzikajeto. Posebno poglavje njunega umetniškega sodelovanja so nastopi v duetu, kjer repertoar sestavlja zelo širok izbor glasbenih zvrsti, ki zrcalijo njune najrazličnejše glasbene okuse in preference, med katerimi so tudi avtorske uglasbitve slovenske poezije.
Singer Ana Vipotnik and guitar player Igor Leonardi have been a creative couple since 1998. As the driving force of Fake Orchestra they have produced four CDs and played over 450 concerts at home and abroad in the last ten years alone. In his rich musical career, Igor Leonardi has played with world-renowned jazz musicians and the famous rock band Metallica and was the mastermind behind the RTV Slovenija music show Muzikajeto. Their duet performances represent a special chapter in their musical collaboration, their repertoire spanning a wide variety of musical genres that reflect their varied musical tastes and preferences, including Slovenian poems set to original music.

Anja Radaljac je komparativistka, kritičarka (Delo, Literatura, Airbeletrina), prevajalka in prozaistka. Prvenec, roman Polka s peščenih bankin, je izdala leta 2014 pri založbi LUD Literatura, drugo knjigo, esejistični roman Puščava, klet, katakombe pa pri založbi Litera jeseni 2016.
Anja Radaljac is a graduate of comparative literature, critic (Delo, Literatura, Airbeletrina), translator and prose writer. Her debut novel Polka from Sandy Verges was published in 2014 by LUD Literatura and her second book, the collection of essays Desert, Basement, Catacombs was published by Litera in the autumn of 2016.
Glasbo JUNEsHELEN prežema sanjsko in kinematografsko vzdušje v preobleki temačnega trip hopa. Na pevkin glasbeni slog je vplival širok spekter različnih žanrov in stilov, ki segajo od eksperimentalne, trip hop, elektronske in vse do klasične, ambientalne, progresivne in filmske glasbe. Hedonističen, ženski duh njene narave in ustvarjalnosti se prepleta z melodijami klavirja, mehkimi sintetizatorji in s prizemljenimi ritmi bobnov, nad katerimi lebdi njen vokal, v poeziji romantično pesniške občutljivosti. Nina Sardi (1985) je umetnostna zgodovinarka, ki je študirala na Univerzi Karl Franzen v Gradcu, (AUT), in slovenska umetnica pod psevdonimom JUNEsHELEN, ki deluje kot pevka, avtorica glasbe in tekstov, producentka, izvajalka in oblikovalka celostne podobe JUNEsHELEN. Po končanem študiju in osmih letih življenja v Avstriji je kratek čas živela v Berlinu in se leta 2013 vrnila v Slovenijo, kjer trenutno živi.
JUNEsHELEN’s general sound is described as having a dreamy and cinematic atmosphere with a dark trip hop background. The singer’s musical style inhabits a wide range of influences and genres, spanning from experimental, trip hop and electronical to classical, ambient, progressive and cinematic music. The hedonistic, feminine spirit of her nature and creativity is intertwined with melodies of the piano, the soft synths and the grounded and stable patterns of the drums, over which her vocals float above and carry in her poetry, a romantic poetic context of sensibility. Nina Sardi (1985), is an art historian, who studied at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz (AUT) and a Slovenian artist alias JUNEsHELEN who works as a singer, author of music and texts, producer, performer and a designer for the visual image in JUNEsHELEN. After 8 years of living in Austria and completing her studies, she briefly lived in Berlin and in 2013 returned to Slovenia, where she currently lives.

Jernej Županič se je rodil leta 1982 v Ljubljani. Diplomiral je iz filozofije in primerjalne književnosti. Je pesnik, prevajalec iz angleščine in lektor. Prevajal je avtorje, kot so Lydia Davis, Dave Eggers, Jonathan Franzen in Taiye Selasi, za svoje prevajalsko delo pa je prejel nagrado Radojke Vrančič za mladega prevajalca leta 2017. Leta 2016 je izšel njegov pesniški prvenec, zbirka Tatar, za katero je bil nominiran za nagrado Slovenskega knjižnega sejma za najboljši prvenec. Jeseni izide njegov romaneskni prvenec z naslovom Mamuti.
Jernej Županič was born in 1982 in Ljubljana. He graduated from philosophy and comparative literature. He is a poet, translator from English and proofreader. He has translated authors such as Lydia Davis, Dave Eggers, Jonathan Franzen and Taiye Selasi and received the 2017 Radojka Vrančič Award for best young translator for his work. In 2016 he published his poetry debut Tartar which won him a nomination for the Slovenian Book Fair Award for best first book. This autumn will see the publication of his debut novel Mammoths.
Samo Kutin (1982) je samouk, raziskovalec zvoka, izdelovalec glasbil in eden vidnejših improvizatorjev slovenske scene. Znan je po rabi nekonvencionalnih inštrumentov, bodisi tistih, ki so že izginili iz vsakdanje rabe, ali doma narejenih zvočil. Eden izmed tradicionalnih inštrumentov, ki jih uporablja, je tudi madžarsko srednjeveško glasbilo hurdy gurdy, s katerim ga lahko vidimo na nastopih eksperimentalne improvizacije. Vodi glasbene delavnice za otroke, ustvarja glasbo za pravljice in gledališča in med drugim sodeluje v glasbenih skupinah Samo Gromofon, Salamandra salamandra in Širom.
Samo Kutin (1982) is a self-taught musician, sound explorer, instrument maker and one of the most notable improvisers on the Slovenian music scene. He is known for his use of unconventional instruments, either instruments that have gone out of everyday use or home-made instruments. One of the traditional instruments that he uses is the Hungarian medieval instrument hurdy gurdy which we can see him play in experimental improvisation performances. He organises music workshops for children, writes music for children’s stories and theatre, and plays in several music groups, including Samo Gromofon, Salamandra salamandra and Širom.

Kristina Hočevar je pesnica, avtorica šestih pesniških zbirk (V pliš, 2004; Fizični rob, 2007; Repki, 2008; Nihaji, 2009, Na zobeh aluminij, na ustnicah kreda, 2012, Naval, 2017). Njena tretja zbirka Repki je prejela nagrado Zlata ptica, zbirka Na zobeh aluminij, na ustnicah kreda pa Jenkovo nagrado. Leta 2014 je pri Zavodu Gulag izšla 3 way art book – Trosmerna knjiga umetnika, v kateri so z njeno poezijo združene izvirne grafike Gorazda Krnca. Kristina Hočevar je tudi ena izmed pesnic pesniške platforme Versopolis. Ob pesnjenju poučuje slovenščino na gimnazijah v Ljubljani, lektorira prevodno leposlovje in v zadnjem času prevaja poezijo iz angleščine.
Kristina Hočevar is a poet, author of six poetry collections (Into Plush, 2004; The Physical Edge, 2007; Tails, 2008; Oscillations, 2009, Aluminium on the Teeth, Chalk on the Lips, 2012, Rush, 2017). Her third poetry collection Tails received the Zlata ptica Award, and her poetry collection Aluminium on the Teeth, Chalk on the Lips received the Jenko Award. In 2014, Zavod Gulag published a three-way art book combining her poetry and original graphics by Gorazd Krnc. Kristina Hočevar is also one of the poets involved in the poetry platform Versopolis. In addition to being a poet, she teaches Slovenian in secondary schools in Ljubljana, proofreads translated literary texts and has recently started translating poetry from English.
Tomaž O. Rous je skladatelj, producent in instrumentalist. Kot umetniški vodja in instrumentalist deluje v glasbeni skupini Revolute, najširši opus do sedaj pa je ustvaril v zasedbi Siddharta, s katero je posnel osem plošč. Sodeloval je s priznanimi slovenskimi in tujimi glasbeniki, npr. Rossom Robinsonom, Boštjanom Gombačem, Dragom Ivanušo, Blažem Celarcem, Milkom Lazarjem, Slavkom Avsenikom ml., Davidom de Villiersom, Vladom Kreslinom, Josipo Lisac, Mrfy, In the Attic idr. Navdušen je tudi nad gledališčem in filmom, kar ga je pripeljalo do glasbenih kompozicij za predstavo Livingstonov poslednji poljub, v režiji Nane Milčinski in Siddharta, za katero je prejel nagrado Zlata paličica; film Sfinga – igranodokumentarni film o najtežji smeri v triglavski severni steni, v režiji Vojka Anzeljca; mednarodno nagrajeni film 8 and 1/2 Circles, v režiji Gregorja Kresala; po lastni literarni predlogi je priredil scenarij za plesno predstavo Palček Metalček, jo korežiral in zanjo skomponiral in posnel glasbo; ter za predstavo ČlovekA z bombami v režiji Matjaža Bergerja in Siddharte.
Tomaž O. Rous is a composer, producer and musician. As artistic director and musician, he is active in the music group Revolute but has done the majority of his work as part of the band Siddharta with which he has recorded eight records. He has collaborated with renowned Slovenian and foreign musicians, including Ross Robinson, Boštjan Gombač, Drago Ivanuša, Blaž Celarec, Milko Lazar, Slavko Avsenik Jr., David de Villiers, Vlado Kreslin, Josipa Lisac, Mrfy, In the Attic, etc. He is also a huge theatre and film lover which has led him to compose music for the performance Livingston’s Final Kiss directed by Nana Milčinski and Siddharta for which he received the Zlata paličica Award; the film Sphynx – a feature documentary about the most difficult route in the Triglav Northern wall directed by Vojko Anzeljc; the internationally acclaimed film 8 and 1/2 Circles directed by Gregor Kresal; he adapted the script for the dance performance The Musical Dwarf based on his own literary material, co-directed it, as well as composed and recorded music for it; and for the performance Two People with Bombs directed by Matjaž Berger and Siddharta.
Maja Miloševič: Stanje po Bitencu (After Bitenc)
Pesniški performans Maje Miloševič: Stanje po Bitencu se dogaja po smrti Braneta Bitenca. Gre za monolog, za cikel pesmi, vpetih med punk sceno v osemdesetih in današnjo.
Bitenc je v domačem kulturnem prostoru pustil svoje sledi na področju pesništva, glasbe in filmske produkcije. Bil je frontman in tekstopisec skupin Otroci socializma in Berlinski zid. Leta 1986 je izšla njegova edina pesniška zbirka, z naslovom Kri. Na AGRFT-ju je študiral filmsko in televizijsko režijo. Za film Lojze se je zbudil tako kot ponavadi (1995) je prejel bronasto nagrado Metoda Badjure. Napisal je več scenarijev in režiral številne dokumentarne filme.
Maja Miloševič’s poetry performance After Bitenc takes place following the death of Brane Bitenc. It is a monologue, a cycle of poems between the 1980s and today’s punk scene.
In the Slovenian cultural sphere, Bitenc left his mark in poetry, music and film production. He was the frontman and author of lyrics in the groups Otroci socializma and Berlinski zid. 1986 saw the release of his only poetry collection Blood. He studied film and TV directing at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television. He received the Metod Badjura Bronze Prize for the film Lojze Woke up as Usual (1995). He wrote several scripts and directed numerous documentaries.

Nina Dragičević (r. 1984) je književnica in skladateljica. Je avtorica treh knjig: romana Kdo ima druge skrbi (2014) ter esejističnih monografij Slavne neznane: Zvočne umetnice v konstrukciji družbe (2016) in Med njima je glasba: Glasba v konstrukciji lezbične scene (2017). Njena književna dela so bila predstavljena na Slovenskih dnevih knjige, v literarnih ciklih Prebiralnik in Idiot, v Galeriji Škuc, odlomki pa prevedeni v španski in angleški jezik. Je članica uredništva revije Idiot, svoje tekste pa objavlja tudi na Radiu Študent in v reviji Odzven. Leta 2016 je pri založbi Kamizdat (Emanat) izdala album Parallellax, sicer pa se je s svojimi kompozicijami in zvočnimi instalacijami predstavila v Galeriji Kapelica, Galeriji Škuc, Cirkulaciji2, Pritličju, Tovarni Rog in v tujini. Je urednica radijske oddaje Slavne neznane na Radiu Študent in umetniška vodja simpozijskega festivala Topografije zvoka.
Nina Dragičević (b. 1984) is a writer and composer. She is the author of three books: the novel Who Has Other Things to Worry About (2014) and essay collections The Famous Unknown: Women Sound Artists in the Construction of Society (2016) and There Is Music between Them: Music in the Construction of the Lesbian Scene (2017). Her literary works have been presented at the Slovenian Book Days, at literary events Prebiralnik and Idiot and in the Škuc Gallery, and a few of her extracts have been translated into Spanish and English. She is an editorial board member of the magazine Idiot. She also publishes her texts on Radio Študent and the magazine Odzven. In 2016 the record company Kamizdat (Emanat) released her album Parallellax. Her compositions and sound installations have appeared in the Kapelica Gallery, the Škuc Gallery, Cirkulacija2, Pritličje, Tovarna Rog and abroad. She is the editor of the radio show The Famous Unknown at Radio Študent and the artistic director of the symposium festival Topographies of Sound.
Marko Karlovčec
Poleg polnopravnega noise nastopa, osnovanega na plošči Sovražnik, ki ne pozna meseca, za saksofon, glas, feedback in tekst, ter black metal projekta Vlaknasta, s katerim ne nastopa v živo, se solistično delo Marka Karlovčca zadnja leta izteče tudi v akustične kompozicije, ki so rezultat zaznav, raziskav, konceptualnih in okultnih procesov v aplikaciji na osebni instrumentalni in ekspresivni jezik.
Nastop bo osredotočen predvsem na izvedbo kompozicijskega dispozitiva Jeziki Teme v sedaj že nekajkrat izvedeni verziji za Nino Dragičević, osnovani na spustu nekaterih delov njenega romana Kdo ima druge skrbi skozenj.
In addition to his full-blooded noise performance based on the record A Foe that Knows No Month for saxophone, vocals, feedback and text, and the black metal project Fibrous which he does not perform live, Marko Karlovčec’s solo work has recently expanded to include acoustic compositions that are the result of perceptions, explorations, conceptual and occult processes applied to a personal instrumental and expressive language.
The performance will focus mostly on the composition The Languages of Darkness in a version that has been performed for Nina Dragičević several times, drawing from parts of her novel Who Has Other Things to Worry About.
Alja Adam & Kaja Teržan: Čaj ob polnoči (Tea at Midnight)
je gibalno-pesniški performans, ki za predmet svojega preizpraševanja jemlje prazen prostor, ki se ga lahko prepozna oz. »nanj pokaže« tako v fizičnem kakor tudi duhovnem smislu. Po eni strani gre za dejanski prostor človekovega bivanja – za nekakšen prazen dom, kamor se lahko vselimo, ali pa si ga le želimo. Lahko pa je to dom, ki je izpraznjen svojega psihološkega bistva – topline/bližine in pristnosti v odnosih (tudi in/ali čeprav le do samega sebe). Performans se torej ukvarja z nekakšno »oukvirjeno praznino«, ki je enkrat polna – čeprav neoprijemljiva; spet drugič prazna, a vidna stvarnost – tako v telesu, poeziji, kakor tudi v življenju samem. V ospredje postavlja širše družbene kontekste, znotraj katerih se oblikujejo pozicije moči (npr. v primeru skrajnega nasilja), pri tem pa se osredotoča na raziskovanje različnih odnosov – med drugim tudi na relacijo avtorica/umetniško ustvarjanje. V slednjem je metaforično zajet polnočni dogodek priprave in pitja čaja, kakor dogodek, ki je sicer izvzet iz vsakodnevne rutine (zaradi neobičajne ure), prav zaradi tega pa omogoča »prihod nečesa novega«, prinaša »vonj po kapljah, ki odnašajo same sebe« in ustvarjajo prostor za širitev imaginacije, ki se poraja in »izginja« (»se prazni«) sočasno: »Ko bom izmila svoj vonj z vonjem po sebi, bom nesmrtna« – in odpira vprašanje transcendence v soočanju z lastno minljivostjo.
is a movement and poetry performance taking, as the subject of its examination, empty space which can be identified or “pointed out” both in the physical and the spiritual sense. On the one hand, it is one’s actual living space – a kind of empty home that one can move into or that one can only hope for. On the other hand, it can be a home that is empty of its psychological essence – warmth/closeness and genuineness in relationships (including and/or albeit in relation to oneself). The performance therefore deals with a kind of “framed emptiness” that is sometimes a full – though intangible, and sometimes empty, but visible reality – both in the body, in poetry, and in life itself. It centres on wider social contexts where positions of power take shape (e.g. in the event of extreme violence) while focusing on exploring different relationships – including the relation author/artistic creation. The latter metaphorically incorporates the midnight event of tea preparation and drinking as an event that is excluded from everyday routine (because of its unusual time) but, as a result, allows for “the arrival of something new”, brings “the smell of drops washing themselves away”, creating a space to expand imagination that emerges and “disappears” (“empties itself”) at the same time: “When I wash away my smell with the smell of myself, I will be immortal” – opening up the question of transcendence when confronted with our own transience.

Edward Foster je ameriški pesnik, esejist, prevajalec in urednik. V Sloveniji smo ga spoznali na Vilenici, kjer je gostoval leta 2004. Doktoriral je na Columbia University in dela kot profesor angleške književnosti v New Jerseyju, kot gostujoči profesor pa je predaval že marsikje po svetu, med drugim tudi pri nas. Izdal je enajst pesniških zbirk, prevajal armensko in rusko poezijo, kot založnik pa izdaja pesniško revijo Talisman in vodi manjšo založbo Talisman House. Leta 2007 je pri Založbi Škuc izšla njegova zbirka pesmi Kar naj bi on vedel, lani pa še Sejanje vetra.
Edward Foster is an American poet, essayist, translator and editor. Slovenians got to know him when he was a guest at the 2014 Vilenica Festival. He has a PhD from Columbia University and is a professor of English literature in New Jersey. As visiting professor, he has lectured all over the world, including in Slovenia. He has published eleven poetry collections, translates Armenian and Russian poetry, is the publisher of the poetry magazine Talisman and runs a small publishing house called Talisman House. In 2007 Škuc published his poetry collection What He Ought to Know, followed by Sowing the Wind.
Kvartet klarinetov A vista je začel delovati v letu 2014/15 pod mentorstvom prof. Jožeta Kotarja, z namenom izpopolnjevanja v komornem igranju, skupnega poustvarjanja slovenskih in tujih glasbenih del, ter udeležbe na festivalih in tekmovanjih. Vsi štirje člani: Aljaž Kalin Kante, Julija Vrabec, Martina Strasser in David Gregorc, so študentje Akademije za glasbo v Ljubljani. Lani so na tekmovanju Temsig dosegli zlato priznanje in prvo nagrado. Letošnje leto so marca imeli koncert v okviru Glasbene mladine Ljubljanske v Klubu Cankarjevega doma, maja pa v Feld am Seeju (Avstrija) in v oviru GM Odra v Kulturnem domu Braslovče, ter v Slovenski filharmoniji.
The A vista clarinet quartet was started in 2014/15 under the mentorship of Professor Jože Kotar for the purposes of ensemble practice, joint arrangements of Slovenian and foreign musical compositions and participating in festivals and competitions. All four members: Aljaž Kalin Kante, Julija Vrabec, Martina Strasser and David Gregorc, are students at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. Last year they won gold and first prize at the Temsig Competition. In March of this year, they gave a concert as part of the Ljubljana Musical Youth in the Club of Cankarjev dom and in May they performed in Feld am See (Austria), as well as in the Braslovče Cultural Centre as part of GM Oder and in the Slovenian Philharmonics.

33 let zbirke Aleph – kako se je kalila slovenska literatura!
Knjižno zbirko Aleph je leta 1985 ustanovila generacija, rojena okoli 1960. V njej je svoja prva dela objavil cel niz danes uveljavljenih avtorjev in avtoric, postala je takorekoč sinonim za novo literaturo, predvsem poezijo. Pred 10 leti je Aleph prejemal podporo za izid 8 knjig letno, potem je Javna agencija za knjigo sčasoma število subvencij skrčila na 6 knjig letno, pred 2 leti ga je izločila iz programskega financiranja in pristal je v projektnem razpisu s 4 knjigami letno. Letos so število knjig skrčili na 2 (dve!) knjigi letno – kar pomeni, da v 2 letih Aleph ne bo imel izdanih 6 knjig, kar je pogoj za prijavo na projektnem razpisu za knjige, se pravi, da sploh ne bo več mogel kandidirati za javna sredstva.

33 Years of the Aleph Book Series – the Making of Slovenian Literature!
The Aleph book series was established in 1985 by the generation born around 1960. It was there that a whole series of now renowned authors published their first works, making it practically synonymous with new literature, particularly poetry. Ten years ago, Aleph received a subsidy to publish eight books per year, after which the Slovenian Book Agency gradually reduced its number of subsidised books to six per year and later eliminated it from its programme financing scheme, as a result of which Aleph ended up in the project financing scheme with four books per year. This year, the number of books was reduced to just 2 (two!) per year, meaning that Aleph will be unable to publish six books within a period of two years which is a prerequisite to applying for project financing, making it unable to seek public funding.
The exhibition is being held to support the continued existence of the Aleph book series.
Tipografski Cankar, razstava tipografskih plakatov avtorja Marka Drpića
Dela Ivana Cankarja so v slovensko kulturo vtisnila močan pečat. V jubilejnem letu je avtor nekaj njegovih misli prenesel v plakatno velikost. Marko Drpić zadnja leta svojega dela posveča visokemu tisku, za izdelavo plakatov pa je uporabil stara tiskarska orodja ter svinčene, lesene in plastične črke iz bogate zbirke studia tipoRenesansa. Uporabil je tudi teksture najdenih predmetov, za katere je malo verjetnosti, da bi zašli v grafični svet. Plakati so ročno natisnjeni na celo v evropskem prostoru izredno redki stiskalnici za visoki tisk.
Marko Drpić se je kaligrafije in klesanja črk učil v ateljeju Kristoffla Boudensa v Antwerpnu v Belgiji. Na Univerzi v Ljubljani je diplomiral iz umetnostne zgodovine (s kaligrafsko analizo srednjeveške biblije) in iz bibliotekarstva. Črka zaseda osrednji prostor njegovega ustvarjanja. Uporablja jo na papirju, kamnu, steklu in kovini. Črko umešča v urbani prostor in krajino. Zadnja leta svojega delovanja posveča visokemu tisku, zbira staro tiskarsko opremo, ohranja in predaja stara tiskarska znanja.
Typographic Cankar, exhibition of typographic posters by Marko Drpić
The works of Ivan Cankar left a lasting impression on Slovenian culture. In the year marking the 100th anniversary of his death, the author presented some of Cankar’s thoughts in poster format. In recent years, Marko Drpić’s work has been focusing on letterpress; the posters were made using old printing tools and lead, wooden and plastic type from the rich collection of the tipoRenesansa studio. Drpić also used textures of found objects unlikely to be found in the graphic world. The posters are hand-printed on an extremely rare letterpress machine, even by European standards.
Marko Drpić studied calligraphy and lettercarving with Kristoffel Boudens in Antwerp, Belgium. He holds a degree in art history (on the subject of the calligraphic analysis of medieval bibles) as well as library science from the University of Ljubljana. The letter takes centre stage in his art. He uses it on paper, stone, glass and metal. He places the letter in the urban space and landscape. He has recently been focusing on letterpress, collecting old printing equipment as well as preserving and passing on his knowledge of old printing techniques.
